Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has insisted that President Muhammadu Buhari is not entitled to an automatic ticket to contest the 2019 presidential election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Vanguard reports that Okorocha who is the chairman of the APC governors forum however, noted that Buhari could seek the mandate of the party for his re-election as stipulated in the constitution.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, November 2, the governor reportedly advocated for democratic process to be followed in the nomination of APC candidates in all categories of position.
In other news, Governor Okorocha had said the Peoples Democratic Party members are getting fattened under the All Progressive Party (APC)-led administration.
Daily Trust reports that Okorocha made this known in a brief interview he granted journalists on Tuesday, October 31, during the APC National Executive Committee (NEC).
He said although the president had so far resisted pressures to sack members of the PDP inherited from the previous government.
